Mona Hatoum
Mona Hatoum is a contemporary Palestinian-British installation and video artist. She is known for the use of found, household objects in her work, imbued with personal history and significance. Hatoum’s work frequently addresses politics and issues regarding gender and the body. She was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1952 to Palestinian parents and studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, where she was forced to flee after war broke out in her home country.
