Inextricabilia sets out to unsnarl these twists and tangles that give form to the sentient, the incommunicable and the elusive. It invites the public to wander among creations with multiple imbrications that provoke a physical reaction, getting beneath the skin to make an almost visceral connection.

Pierrette Bloch (born in Paris in 1928) has created a body of work that is deeply rooted in draughtsmanship, reflecting her own sensitive feel for the art of drawing. Her work is based on the repetition of a creative act that is never quite the same — an untrammelled act that seeks out spontaneity and happenstance.

La Galerie Véronique Smagghe et la curator Sophie Zante présentent Hyperliens : le QR code comme média vers l’œuvre, en invitant deux jeunes plasticiens au sein de son espace : Florentine et Alexandre Lamarche-Ovize. L’espace invite le visiteur dans un lieu symbolique et fantomatique qui joue avec le plein, le vide, la présence et l’absence.

A year ago, the LWS gallery was expanding in order to reflect on which visual identity to assume. To celebrate this first anniversary and illustrate this other line of research, works of seven artists, both known and unknown, from different ages and backgrounds, take over the gallery and transform its space.

Throughout her career, Pierrette Bloch resorted to poor materials and reduced motifs. Working with collages, ink on paper, hardboard, rope and horsehair, she developed her favourite forms of reference — dots, lines and hyphens. Exploring the limits between drawing and sculpture as well as the relationships between emptiness and fullness.
