SCREENING A FIDAI FILM DE KAMAL ALJAFARI

As part of the Festival du film franco-arabe de Noisy-le-Sec, La Galerie presents A Fidai Film by director Kamal Aljafari.

During the military intervention in Lebanon in the summer of 1982, Tsahal confiscated the archives of the Palestinian Research Center in Beirut, including a collection of still and moving images. Kamal Aljafari reappropriates these images, still preserved by the Israeli army and Ministry of Defense, to ward off the desire to erase a people deprived of its visual memory.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Raquel Schefer, researcher, filmmaker and programmer, PhD in Film and Audiovisual Studies from Université Sorbonne Nouvelle — Paris 3.
