Ali Kazma
WOMEN AT WORK

Past: September 4 → November 20, 2020

For two decades now, Ali Kazma has been filming work, the body, and the body at work by capturing as a virtuoso the gestures and the processes of work. With more than 60 short films to his credit and numerous acclaimed monographic exhibitions, including “Souterrain” at the Jeu de Paume in 2017-2018, Ali Kazma now presents his first thematic exhibition— and what a theme: WOMEN AT WORK. Ali Kazma felt it was the right time “to reconsider (his) position in all matters of gender and to think about this reality more actively.”

WOMEN AT WORK is an exhibition of many “premières”.
The first “working woman” Ali Kazma filmed in 2007 is the world renown Turkish ceramist Alev Siesbye.
The first woman European Top Fuel Dragster Champion, Anita Mäkelä, is featured in Top Fuel, the latest film by Ali Kazma (coproduced by Les Moulins de Paillard, where the film is currently screened).
The first book by Ali Kazma, entitled Remember, will be presented along with the exhibition.
