Génuflexions

Past: September 22 → November 18, 2017

The Salle Principale Gallery announces a new exhibition of the work of Annie Vigier and Franck Apertet (les gens d’Uterpan) who will, for the first time, be presenting a corpus of 12 historic pieces reflecting the 3 main aspects of their work : X-Event, re|action and New principle of research and creation.

The title Genuflexions eloquently and mischievously challenges the relationships between artists and the art market, symbolised here by the structure of the gallery, in an interplay of mutual concessions which will have shaped the presentation of the works and the specific exhibition layout, which is split into two distinct areas providing sharp insights into a body of work that is both complex and committed.

Statement :

Genuflexions is an exhibition that reflects the translation of the economic language of the gallery into an artistic idiom, and the translation of the artistic idiom of the choreographers into an economic language. The strategy includes the presence of visitors and the potential participation of buyers.
