Au-delà de l’image (Part I)1, a collective exhibition presented at Escougnou-Cetraro Gallery (ex See Studio Gallery) in November 2014, was the beginning of a reflexion on the photographic medium and its possible variations in the art field. The exhibition considered the image as construction material, as structural component of artistic actions, and questioned the topical processes of hybridization between imagery and fine arts. The artists taking part in the second edition of this exhibition are invited to continue this reflexion on the image — either fixed or moving, its materiality, its relation to space and time, paying particular attention to the intermediality involved in sculpture, painting, music, cinema, architecture, theatre or performing arts. The image then finds itself in the core of creative processes, at the crossroads of various fields of artistic expression, acting as a chemical agent allowing all the elements to precipitate into the forming of the artwork.
Following the first edition’s framework, the artists challenge the visibility conditions usually allowing the viewer to see the images, as well as the limits of their possible manipulations.
