The JCE / Jeune création européenne network is preparing its new travelling exhibition, dedicated to young european artists. The JCE biennial, which travels around europe, will open as usual with its first step in La Fabrique, in the city of Montrouge.
The JCE / Jeune Création Européenne network is a contemporary art project, created 10 years ago by the city of Montrouge to promote young talents. Today a network of several cities in different European countries selects and shows a hundred of young artists in a travelling biennial, the main JCE event. Each new edition allows several young European artists to present their work in every partner country, during a 2 years European tour.
The French selection is chosen among the most promising artists participating to the “Salon de Montrouge”, in particular the prizes of the event, which are presented, each year, at the “Palais de Tokyo” in Paris.
The 2011/2013 biennial gave to 80 young European artists the opportunity to be discovered by a large European audience, and for the winner of the JCE grand prize, the chance to present 5 personal artworks in the next edition.
The JCE network gives also to its artists the opportunity to experience a residency program offering stays of 2/3 months in 4 European partner cities: Amarante, Montrouge, Klaipeda and Salzburg.
Obviously, the JCE is much more than just an exhibition: It is a project to promote young European artists throughout the entire continent by increasing their visibility.
