Dans le salon de Marcelle Alix #17
Frédéric Legros en conversation Aurélien Froment et Armineh Negahdari
In 2 days: Saturday, May 17, 2025
In Marcelle Alix’s Salon, Frédéric Legros will engage in a conversation with artists Aurélien Froment and Armineh Negahdari about their joint exhibition at the gallery, sharing the material, spatial, and mental questions that underpin it.
Frédéric Legros is the director of the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval. Since 2019, he has overseen this major site, opening the monument to new forms of creation while preserving the legacy of Ferdinand Cheval. As a curator and artistic director, he has contributed to numerous significant projects at the International Centre for Art and Landscape on Vassivière Island, the Monnaie de Paris, the Villa Medici — French Academy in Rome, and directed the 8th Melle Biennale.
Aurélien Froment was born in Angers in 1976. He lives in Edinburgh, Scotland. His work has been featured in solo exhibitions at many international institutions. The photographic series he dedicated to the Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval, composed of 90 prints, was shown at the Badischer Kunstverein (2014), Le Plateau, frac île-de-France, Paris (2015), and the Musée des Abattoirs, Toulouse (2016). It is now part of the CNAP collections. In 2024, Delpire Editions published Le Palais Idéal du Facteur Cheval, a book gathering these photographs.
Armineh Negahdari was born in 1994 in Tehran, Iran. She currently lives in Bordeaux. Her drawing and sculpture work has been shown in group exhibitions such as “Souvenir Nouveau” at the Grand Café in Saint-Nazaire, “Tageldimde/Middlegate” at the Cultuurcentrum de Werft in Geel in 2023, and “Dislocations” at the Palais de Tokyo in 2024. More recently, her works have been featured in the new display of the MAMC+ collections in Saint-Étienne. Marcelle Alix will present her work at Art Basel Statements in June 2025.
