The water appears smooth at first, time draws out or is suspended in a form of insouciance, lightness or calm lending itself to contemplation. Humming sounds and the lapping of the water. The sun or fog surrounds us in long static shots. And suddenly, time closes in and is drawn tight; the sounds and landscape change: and we overturn it into doubt.
