While today’s world seems more fragile than ever, today’s women artists consider it more sharply than ever. Before or just around their forties, Isabelle Chapuis (1982, France), Tereza Kozinc (1985, Slovenia), and Mimiko Turkkan (1984, Turkey), through their own lenses and with their unique gaze, capture both the frailty of humanity and the power of nature — their own frailty and their invincibility.

The three lens-based artists depict themselves and other women — or men — in their struggles and their accords with their environment. Making peace with themselves, their specific body, and placing themselves in the surroundings of their own choice, they reflect the world for us through delicate though tenacious images, mirroring our own realities.
