Des chefs-d’œuvre de la collection Renault aux artistes d’aujourd’hui
In about 1 month: October 17, 2026 → March 7, 2027
As early as the 1960s, Renault initiated pioneering collaborations with artists, giving rise to a remarkable collection of works inspired by the worlds of the factory and the automobile.
More than half a century later, the car remains at the heart of social reflection, elevated to the status of an icon of industrial society.
“The exhibition draws on the symbolic heritage of the historic Renault factories on Île Seguin, a site that for many years set the rhythm of French industry. The selection of artists and works explores the complex relationship between human beings and the machines, or artefacts, that we create, with a particular focus on the automobile. The car is presented as a powerful symbol of innovation, progress and freedom, while also acting as a catalyst for technological change, environmental transformations, urban developments and new forms of social identity. On a conceptual level, the exhibition examines the mechanisms of modernity, using the factory, the engine and the assembly line as metaphors for the delicate balance between individual agency and collective functioning.”
