Shake and Bake. A group show curated by Hard Hat
Past: January 7 → February 4, 2012
Praz-Delavallade is happy to invite Hard Hat, an hybrid structure from Geneva, functioning as an exhibition space, as well as an editor of multiples, a curatorial project office and a meeting point for artists, gallerists, collectors and curators.
Founded by four people from three generations of artists and curators (John Armleder, Lionel Bovier, Fabrice Stroun and Balthazar Lovay). From 2005 to 2011, _Hard Hat _was co-directed by the last two. Following the appointment of Fabrice Stroun at the Kunsthalle Bern in December, 2011 Hard Hat is now run by three artists : Pablo Hurtado, Marta Riniker-Radich and Balthazar Lovay.
The exhibition Shake and Bake has been developed like an echo to the various activities of Hard Hat, especially the many links it helped to develop between different artistic scenes and genres, like a rhizome with continuous resizing. Through these activities, historical or emerging artists, multiples, unique works or ephemera, Swiss, French and American artists are confronted to each other to form a large non-hierarchical network, producing exchanges between the different actors of the contemporary art world.
