Drawing is what lies at the heart of Tracey Emin’s artistic creation. For her first exhibition at a major French institution, the British artist will be selecting drawings from the Musée d’Orsay collections, rarely presented to the public, and bringing them into dialogue with her own works.

These drawings produced on different scales and different mediums will be brought together by the artist to express our anxiety at being human when we are confronted with this complex yet essential aspect of our lives: love. Love, humans, animals, objects, in an extensive experience of our humanity. The reality of our lives will be brought into questions through these drawings, perhaps the most fragile art form, the one that best reflects sentiments and intellect, as part of a scenography specially designed to reveal the unique beauty of these fragile objects.
