The Figure in the Carpet
Past: January 31 → March 7, 2014
“The Figure in the Carpet” is the title to a 1896 short story by Henry James, telling the desperate quest of an art critic for the secret meaning to the work of renowned writer Hugh Vereker. Like a hidden figure in the intricate lines of an ancient carpet, Vereker once tells the young critic that there is a key to the understanding of his work.

Adrien Missika — Impressions botaniques
Past: June 5 → July 27, 2013

Trojan Horses : Davis Rhodes Dan Shaw-Town, Ned Vena
Past: September 13 → November 10, 2012
Thirty years later, contradicting Thomas Lawson prophecy, suggesting pure painting as the perfect camouflage, a new generation of radical young artists seems to embrace a rather unconventional approach to the medium of painting which is far beyond painting itself.

Etienne Chambaud — Undercuts
Past: June 6 → July 21, 2012
The exhibition Undercuts is set up between two prototypes of preservation of the motif, two models of writing “the origin”, two monuments dedicated to the genealogy of the figures, two scenes of classification and taxonomy, two places shaping the observation: the zoo and the museum.

Nick Devereux — As it is and not as it should be
Past: May 27 → July 23, 2011
For his first solo show, Nick Devereux presents works that are notably based on old masterpieces that are now destroyed. He thus produced a series of images that are reconstructed as sculptures, and readdressed through painting and drawing. The intention of the original subject matter is obscured, in order to explore the integral nature of the image.
