Isabelle Gounod Gallery

After opening her first gallery space in Boulogne-Billancourt in 2004, inaugurated with an exhibition dedicated to Michaële-Andréa Schatt, Isabelle Gounod opened in 2008 a new space in the Marais (Paris, IIIth Arrondissement). Supporting since 2006 a new generation of artists, she organized the first exhibitions of Jérémy Liron (seven solo exhibitions since 2006), Julien des Monstiers (2008), Claire Tabouret (2010, 2012 and 2013), Thomas Lévy-Lasne (2013), as well as Maude Maris (2013, 2015 and 2017).

In 2011, the gallery expanded with the “Studio” space also located at 13, rue Chapon. Both a showroom and an exhibition space, it is mainly dedicated to collectors.

Supported by numerous art critics and curators with whom she regularly collaborates (Philippe Piguet, Valentine Meyer, Célia Houdart, Judicaël Lavrador, Guillaume Picon, etc.), the gallery invited the art critic Léa Bismuth in 2013, who then carried out her first curatorial exhibition as part of the program “Nouvelles Vagues” in association with the Palais de Tokyo Museum. In 2016, she asked Valentine Meyer to organize the first solo exhibition in France of the singaporean artist Luke Heng.

Since its creation, the gallery has been committed to support the young french generation and today represents many emerging artists, such as Lenny Rébéré (Panthéon-Sorbonne Prize 2017, Contemporary Drawing Prize of the Ecole des Beaux-arts de Paris 2018), Aurore Pallet, Audrey Matt-Aubert, Pierre Aghaikian and Martin Ferniot.

Furthermore the gallery has also welcomed more experienced artists from the french and international scene, such as the British artist Glen Baxter (represented in France by the gallery since 2016), Moussa Sarr (represented by the gallery since 2017). Recently in 2018, Jacqueline Dauriac and Katharina Ziemke joined the gallery.

Isabelle Gounod Gallery is present on International and French Art Fairs such as SLICK (2008), FIAC-(OFF)ICIELLE and FIAC Outdoors (2014), the Zürcher Show in New York (2015), YIA (Brussels) and Paréidolie (Marseille) in 2016, Drawing Now Paris (since 2010) and Choices — Paris Gallery Weekend (2014, 2015 and 2018). Recently, the gallery participated to the first edition of BIENVENUE Art Fair at the Citée des Arts, Paris.
