Absurde, vous avez dit absurde ?

Be it through exaggeration, ludicrous actions, or the transformation of meaning, the artists let us glimpse a reality where reason has been unseated and the status-quo undone. Our “stubborn quest for sense”, our will to give everything meaning is thus unsettled by their manifold interpretations.

Through her use of the panoramic perspective her pieces are readable as compelling poetic stories. In these stories both the landscape and the human figures in it function as protagonists.

This exhibition evokes a theatre where women play all the possible roles from the direction through the action itself. The stage varies: the interior of a bourgeois villa, the rooms of an abandoned house where stories seep out of walls and furniture, or within an artist’s or a photographer’s studio.
