Hiroshi Sugimoto — Theory of Colours

Galerie Marian Goodman is delighted to present Theory of Colours, the third solo exhibition by Hiroshi Sugimoto in Paris. The exhibition will focus on his new body of work, Opticks. Opticks, 2018, was created by capturing the photographic transcription of colors as revealed when light passes through an optical glass prism.

Marian Goodman Gallery announces an exhibition of works by Hiroshi Sugimoto at the Paris Gallery. Working across photography, sculpture, installation and most recently architecture, Sugimoto explores his concerns of time, memory and societal progress, tracing their origins, while bridging Eastern and Western ideologies.

Hiroshi Sugimoto — Accelerated Buddha

History has been at the core of Hiroshi Sugimoto’s work for the past twenty years. In a series of photographs and a video installation, Sugimoto investigates the origins of Zen Buddhism and its implications in Japanese cultures over time. He creates a mental landscape, composed of objects and ancient artworks selected.
