Exposition de dessins
Past: March 23 → April 22, 2017
Just like exhibition rooms, we gathered 50 works of 16 artists, since 1950 until our days. Henri Michaux’s ink, dreamlike invitations in the dream are placed next to the radicality of the drawings of François Morellet or Vera Molnar ; the calligraphy inspired by Jean Degottex’s Taoism with Giulia Manset’s obsessional drift, or Gérard Traquandi’s extreme refinement.

From our meeting with Jean Pierre Schneider we liked the themes of his paintings, stemming from poetic or philosophic reflections of Jean Genet, Serge Dagerman, Marguerite Yourcenar or Bernard Chambaz.

Jean Pierre Schneider — Le Bliaud de la Reine et autres peintures
Past: January 9 → February 21, 2015
“One of my foremost preoccupations is to not place a subject on a background, to avoid at all costs this hierarchy between the motif and what one would call the picture’s background (I prefer the word space or surface), even if it always seems that there might be strong, strategic and essential elements in the picture.” — Jean Pierre Schneider.

On the occasion of Art Elysées, Michèle and Odile Aittouarès chose to give pride of place to painting, inviting Jean Pierre Schneider, Herta Müller, Michel Haas — three artists who all consider it as their primary means of expression. Jean Pierre Schneider — De terre et d’eau
Past: February 14 → March 20, 2013
After Funambule and Olympia, landscapes are used as a pretext for this new exhibition, landscape of earth and water. While the Grandes Terres cleave to horizontality and to a linear infinity, les Chutes de mai introduce a verticality that defines space and gives birth to a new temporality.
