Lee Jin Woo — Eranthis
Past: March 23 → May 17, 2019
Being absorbed by matter, making one with it, disappearing in it, going elsewhere… For Lee Jin Woo, creation is meditation. His work process is long, physically demanding and repetitive, like a prayer recited over and over again.

Lee Jin Woo — Vers le calme — Towards Calm
Past: September 5 → October 31, 2015
Lee Jin Woo’s works are born from an essential need: the artist’s desire to merge with matter, with nature, in the “Being”; to disappear. This work is a form of meditation, a way to let himself be absorbed in order for something to potentially emerge.

Lee Jin Woo — La lumière par le vent
Past: January 25 → March 15, 2014
Concrete and symbolic, figurative and abstract, the work of Lee Jin Woo is plural. The seeming simplicity is the result of a sophisticated exploitation of light, relief, matter, the “empty” and the “full”. From the purity of shapes, the economy of colors and means emanate a serenity, a slowness, an intensity… It is a work outside of time and space.

12 x 12
Past: December 12, 2013 → January 11, 2014
There is no imposed theme or material for this group exhibition which brings together fifteen artists from the gallery and three new artists to discover. The only constraint: the format. The idea is to take a stand against the monumentalization trend in contemporary art. The 12 x 12 exhibition pays homage to the small format.

Lee Jin Woo — Mur, Wall
Past: May 5 → June 23, 2012
Confronted with the wall erected in front of him Lee Jin Woo has chosen to grow grass. During the winter he has sown seeds on a huge taught canvas, on layers of Hanji paper and lawns grew in his workshop. He continued watering whilst taking on painting and constructing with charcoal on the surfaces: The cultivated nature and the artistic process have met.
