Since 2008, the Louvre museum and FIAC have collaborated in order to design and produce ‘Ouvertures/Openings’, a program dedicated to performance. The cycle has developed a unique approach, exploring artistic experimentation occurring at the frontiers between different disciplines.

Joan Jonas — Reanimation

Joan Jonas is one of the pioneers of performance and video. Jonas’s 40-year body of work has been and continues to be internationally influential. This is Joan Jonas’s third solo exhibition at the Galerie Yvon Lambert in Paris, following those at Galerie Yvon Lambert New York in 2005, 2007, and 2010.

The exhibition brings together a dozen films and videos forming part of the collection of FRAC Île-de-France. The two exhibition spaces — the CPIF and the Parc Culturel de Rentilly — will be plunged into darkness in order to make the projections visible. Visitors will meander through the penumbral setting encountering animated images.
