Owen Piper
Archiving ideas is certainly one of the most interesting characteristics of Owen Piper’s work. Making three paintings a day average, Piper is inspired by everything from international politics to footballers boots, from animals habits to fancy cars. This compulsive collection of eclectic references results into a daily feed of images and abstract colorfull compositions. With its strong ‘readymade’ aspect, Owen’s practice is crafted with a straightforward and a slightly irreverent approach. Far from being lyrical, Owen’s work has a firm grip on reality and daily news.
Owen Piper (London, 1975) has been trained at the Central Saint Martin in London, Newcastle school of Art and obtained his MFA at the Glagsow School of arts where he lives and work now.
