Pierre Seinturier
Born in 1988, Pierre Seinturier lives and works in Paris. He graduated from the Ecole nationale des arts Décoratifs in 2011 and two years after his paintings and drawings were noticed during the Salon de Montrouge, where he won the Jury Award. Then he showed at the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Lyon, through the Modules du Palais de Tokyo Program. His pastels, inks, oils on paper and canvas evoke, in a strange twilight atmosphere, the fantasized West American landscapes, where the characters are subject to all kind of black scenarios.
The galerie GP & N Vallois presented his work in its Project Room in 2014, then a solo show at Drawing Now! Paris 2015, and more recently the exhibition « It’s a way of life! », which ended in January 30th 2016. These exhibitions were a great success, not only with the collectors but also with the art world professionals such as Lorand Heguy, director of MAMC+ Saint-Etienne, Jean de Loisy director of Palais de Tokyo, Brett Littman, director of the Drawing Center in New York, Anaël Pigeat, art critic and redactor in chief of Art Press, Gaël Charbau, art critic and curator, and Béatrice de Rochebouët, journalist from Le Figaro.
Winner of the 6th Club des Partenaires Award of the Museum of Modern et Contemporary Art of Saint-Etienne, Pierre Seinturier is currently presenting his show “I want to believe”, until February 21th. On this occasion, the museum acquired three works and published his first catalogue.
Pierre Seinturier has recently been invited by Jean de Loisy, director of Palais de Tokyo, to participate in the group show « Double Je », from March 24th to May 15th 2016, with the partnership of the Bettancourt Scheller Foundation. On this occasion, the artist will produce new works, including a large “altar-piece” mixing painting and carpentry work.
