Pierre Alechinsky — A contre vent

Exhibition

Drawing, painting

Pierre Alechinsky
A contre vent

Past: September 6 → November 3, 2012

Whereas for his previous exhibition Pierre Alechinsky confined himself to the round shape of the frame, the tondo, this time Indian ink has set the direction. Playing with silhouetting and contemplating the sort of cameo that is any painting over the void, these are works that go against the tide, dictated by each brushstroke, with the only colour tending to appear as a ripple around the frame of the canvas.

“He is beholding a far interior. He is pushing ahead of him images which are like countries on the move. Like the panels of memory. The mobile scenery of cosmogony."

Catalogue Repères n°155, text by Hélène Cixous.
