Wemaëre et Jorn : la force des contraires
Une amitié franco-danoise au XXe siècle
Past: January 23 → March 2, 2014
Nothing indicated that the two artists, French Pierre Wemaëre (1913-2010), born in Comines in the North, and the Danish Asger Jorn (1914-1973) were going to meet.
But the meeting, in the studio of Fernand Léger in Paris in 1936, sealed a lasting friendship, with numerous examples of common works.
The exhibition shows the extraordinarily positive emulation and reciprocal contributions of both painters.
