Paris Gallery Weekend — Édition 2019

Over the course of its 5 previous editions, Paris Gallery Weekend marked itself as the Springtime “rendez-vous” for Paris and its art scene. The 6th edition of Paris Gallery Weekend will take place from Friday 17 May to Sunday 19 May 2019 and 48 galleries have already confirmed their participation so far (see list below).

Atmo(sphères) — Œuvres sur papier

A l’occasion du mois du dessin et de la célébration des 50 ans du premier pas de l’homme sur la lune avec une importante exposition au Grand Palais dès le printemps prochain, la galerie est heureuse de présenter une exposition autour de la thématique de la sphère, constellations de papier entre terre et ciel.

Les Russes à Paris — 1925-1945

This Fall, in conjunction with the exhibition dedicated to the Russian avant-garde in Vitebsk at the Centre Pompidou, and on the occasion of the September 2018 Parcours des Mondes, the Jeanne Bucher Jaeger gallery will honor the Russian artists that it showed on its walls between 1925 and 1955.

On the occasion of the Drawing Week, the gallery decided to spotlight drawings by sculptors. The drawings highlights the clear link between the sheet of paper and the completed work, putting front and center the tension of the volume as it moves towards the planar surface, or the incarnation of a sculptural apparatus as the vehicle for a unique and specific idea.

Tobey-Biberstein — Ecritures contemplatives
Past: February 1 → March 15, 2018
Pioneer explorer of the sign in painting, the American artist Mark Tobey sought, through pure abstraction, an original calligraphy, a sacred space outlining the path to universal language between beings. Tobey’s writing is here set in dialogue with the detached and contemplative writing of the Swiss artist Michael Biberstein.

Plénitude aux confins de l’existant — Arpad Szenes

In 2017, on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of Árpád Szenes‘ birth, the gallery Jeanne Bucher Jaeger presents the exhibition “Plénitude aux confins de l’existant“. It is a new tribute to the artist, whom the gallery has represented for almost 80 years.

Le Féminin Demeure

La création féminine est au cœur de l’histoire de la galerie depuis son origine. En 1933, Jeanne Bucher expose pour la première fois Maria Helena Vieira da Silva à laquelle la galerie consacrera une quinzaine d’expositions monographiques. Quarante ans après, « Le Féminin Demeure » prolonge cette thématique avec des artistes femmes soutenues au fil du temps par la galerie.

Vera Pagava — Corps Célestes

Fabienne Verdier — Energy Fields

Energy Fields follows an earlier exhibition of her works at the Groeninge Museum in Bruges and the St Jean Hospital Memling Museum as well an exhibition at the Erasmus House in Brussels in homage to the Flemish masters Van Eyck, Van der Weyden, Marmion, Memling and Van der Goes. Two spaces are devoted to a vast installation of innovative works.

Fermin Aguayo — Présence habitée — Présence réfléchie

The gallery presents a retrospective exhibition of the Spanish painter Fermin Aguayo entitled “Inhabited Presence, Reflected Presence” at both the right bank and left bank spaces of the Gallery. This exhibition retraces the itinerary of a great painter who died prematurely in 1977 at the age of 51, and whom the gallery has promoted ever since the 1950s.

Cet hommage à Miodrag Djuric, Dado s’articule autour de trois œuvres majeures peintes à l’huile sur toile en 1975, entourées des grands collages, de dessins de grand format, et de travaux sur papier. Cet ensemble témoigne de la maturité atteinte par l’artiste dans la période de 1971 à 1975, années de l’intervention de la galerie Jeanne Bucher dans sa carrière.
