La notion de « Seconde Nature » suggère que les choses qui nous sont devenues si familières nous semblent innées. Nos habitudes de penser, d’agir, sont désormais si ancrées que nous ne remarquons même plus qu’elles ne sont pas aussi naturelles qu’elles pourraient le sembler. L’exposition rassemble une variété d’approches esthétiques de cette notion de « Seconde nature ».

Pascal’s 39th Pensée makes the following bold claim: “If lightning fell on low places, etc., poets, and those who can only reason about things of that kind, would lack proofs.” This comes in the context of his ongoing contemplations concerning the differences between “mathematical” and “artistic” reasoning.
