Ralentir le vent

Past: April 21 → July 2, 2023

Eric Baudart’s approach is similar to that of the “flâneur” artist as defined by Baudelaire in Le Peintre de la vie moderne (1863) : “[artist] of the circumstance and of all that it suggests of eternal”.

Baudart pays particular attention to the objects and detritus of post-industrial urban life: mattress springs, the blades of an obsolete and tired fan, an accumulation of concert posters, or the mechanism of a child’s toy. With a few simple gestures such as the application of a color, a punctual deformation, or simply the displacement of the object from its environment and its integration into the artistic space, the sculptor reveals the aesthetic and poetic potential of these elements. For Ralentir le vent, Éric Baudart presents a series of new pieces in rooms 1 and 2 of Crédac, inviting the viewer to apprehend space and time differently through the experience of forms and motifs that are nevertheless generic.
