Keld Helmer-Petersen :
Un autre monde

Past: November 7 → December 18, 2014

“It is through 122 Colour Photographs that I came to know the work of Keld Helmer-Petersen. Martin Parr introduced me to the volume when we were researching our history of the photobook. Conventional wisdom — that is, American photographic histories — dictated that colour photography as a serious creative medium “began” with Wiliam Eggleston’s exhibition at the Museum of Moderne Art, New York, in 1976. Keld Helmer-Petersen’s 122 Colour Photographs suggests that it began in Denmark in the 1940’s".

Gerry Badger, auteur avec Martin Parr de The Photobook A History, vol1. Phaidon.
