La galerie poursuit son histoire et s’installe au 230 rue Saint-Martin, Paris IIIe
Première exposition

In 9 days: May 29 → July 18, 2026

The Putman Gallery has moved from Rue Quincampoix and is now based in third arrondissement of Paris, thus continuing a history relative to the places it inhabits.

Founded in 1974 by Jacques Putman, soon joined by his wife Catherine, this family business managed by their daughter-in-law Eléonore Chatin, has always distinguished itself through the choice of singular and intimist addresses.

The gallery has expanded and now receives its visitors at 230 Rue Saint-Martin, alongside other Parisian galleries of Le Marais, in a space entirely redesigned by the architect Léonie Alma Mason, and faithful to its identity. This configuration is designed to accommodate various rhythms of exhibition, to multiply perspectives and foster dialogue between the artworks, notably unique works on paper, but also multiples, in the tradition of publishing contemporary prints that has long been a Putman favourite.

The inaugural exhibition marks the opening of the Galerie Putman’s new premises, following more than a hundred exhibitions held over the past twenty years on Rue Quincampoix.

We wanted to present a group show and have selected works by over twenty artists with whom we have been collaborating for many years.
It is a free-flowing dialogue between the pieces, as we like to do from time to time at the gallery. Playing with various formal associations, the display adapts to the works and the space just as a collector would do in their own home.

This inaugural exhibition is intended to reflect what we offer our loyal patrons: artists from different generations, a preference for works on paper — though not exclusively — including drawing,
watercolour, engraving, lithography and photography, with no hierarchy between the techniques.
