A bitter sweet legacy
Past: June 5 → July 26, 2014
For this exhibition, the artists realised research and workshop based creations in which they conceived a multitude of works in parallel, where works liberally influenced others. The result outlines an environment defined by memory, with links developing through echoes, references and recollections.

Sleepwalking
Past: March 21 → May 24, 2014
The exhibition, “Sleepwalking”, takes its title from the large work that presents the back torso of a woman sandwiched between a field of words used to describe aspects of painting, some readable others in reverse and an ambiguous abstract space constructed as an architectural drawing leading the eye into deep space.

Gregory Cumins — Paintings & Drawings
Past: January 17 → March 15, 2014
Gregory Cumins studied sculpture at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts Paris under English artist Richard Deacon. Deeply affected by this training, his painting tends to merge in one single ground image and space, compressing the volume into one single layer in a way that creates a visual perturbation for the viewer.

Alors, ils se mirent à parler du temps
Past: November 16 → December 21, 2013
For this exhibition, the gallery has, for the first time, invited the 6 artists it represents to work on this reflection. A passage where the time stops or expands to reveal our history, our memory and our myths… A non-linear and taunting time to better thwart our daily lives.

Stéfane Perraud — Le Sarcophage de L. près de M. (en D.)
Past: September 12 → October 31, 2013
For his first solo exhibition, Stefane Perraud summons viewers to follow him on an introspection of a collection of artworks that have been staged as an archaeological metaphor. Sur la mauvaise pente
Past: June 22 → July 27, 2013
For the curator Nabila Mokrani, to rethink the traditional exhibition format through scenography or set design is to start from a ground based point of view — the relevant place to consider a hanging — to allow the effect of vertigo to take hold and to defy for a time the immobility of the body.

Sciences et Fictions
Past: May 16 → June 15, 2013
Sciences&Fictions is a reflection on the sharing of knowledge between two opposed worlds, modern sciences and fictional narratives, on the transition of imaginary constructions from one to the other. Eleven artists have used this theme for 8 works of art which will be shown at the Roussan gallery.

Petra Kohle & Nicolas Vermot Petit-Outhenin — It depends entirely upon the hue of the lighting
Past: March 13 → May 11, 2013
The enduring fallacy that the camera never lies is the starting-point for a newwork by Swiss duo Petra Köhle and Nicolas Vermot Petit-Outhenin. Interweaving photography’s invisible processes of selection, exclusion and suppression with other discriminative practices, whether cultural, political or archival, it constitutes a meditation on the elusiveness of truth.

Eschatologie
Past: November 9 → December 21, 2012
If, as the Mayans seemed to predict by ending their calendar on December 21st 2012, and if in the Bible, or more generally in all religions, there is a forewarning of the end of the world, then an Apocalypse there will be!

Monstre s’affiche — Les partitions visuelles
Past: May 10 → July 21, 2012
How is it possible to set up an exhibition as an act of edition? How to think about an exhibition as an extension of the magazine? To give an answer to these two interrogations, we try to formulate a protocol. Giving the idea that in the magazine only a part of an artwork is shown, we chose to show no entire physical artwork.

Après tout rien
Past: March 9 → May 5, 2012
“Après tout rien” is a journey in Another World. “I lost the ground and travelled in mind. I left a sterile world, and came alongside a mineral and icy, but pure and demanding country. I was met by its motto on a glass banner that said we were not clear enough with ourselves. The trip must be internal too: it is the key to live in my world.”
