His work explores a wide range of social, moral and political issues, questioning the nature of freedom through several themes of natural history such as migration.

Shadow fills the image, shadow creates the image. It is stretched, it contracts or is accentuated depending on the interplay of forms and light. There are haphazard and untimely shadows. But there are others which seem desired, summoned by art and artists themselves… This exhibition pays tribute to these latter, fragile and beloved.

Alessandro Sciaraffa, Donato Piccolo, Gino Marotta et Maurizio Colantuoni sont quatre artistes italiens qui ont relevé le défis de représenter la nature dans ce qu’elle a de plus immatérielle : le vent, la mer et la pluie. « How do you catch a cloud and pin it down ? » disait la chanson, reste à réunir les trois éléments dans un même espace.

L’univers de Piero Livio — Dustmuseum

Dès 1970, Piero Livio commence un projet qu’il nomme Dustmuseum. Il s’engage alors dans une collecte effrénée d’objets disparates, de rebuts et de fragments trouvés par hasard et destinés à l’oubli, puis leur redonne un nouveau visage en les intégrant dans des assemblages qui se muent en de fragiles sculptures.
