EMOH-revoir Home — Exposition personnelle de Bahareh Navabi

Since her arrival in Paris from Iran in 2005, Bahareh Navabi turned to figuration after several years of abstraction. From 2008 she has built up a portrait gallery of characters in black and white. Her approach is gradual, made through experiments. Bahareh uses Indian ink, creating compositions where thin lines contrast with bold black shapes.

Les Innommables grotesques

Since the discovery in the XVth century of the unpredictable frescoes of the Golden House of Néron under the thermal baths of Trajan, the grotesque has manifested through the ages. The artists of the exhibition cultivate this duel game of humor and carnage. They accumulate, stack, and assemble, drawing from the collective imagination.

Kristina Bength works on the story of Amanda Kristina Pedersen by bringing the game of fraud and imposture into play in several ways. “Within Cuts and Bends” is a slide of watercolour paintings that resembles an immovable silent film telling a story in fragments at the point where photographic realism meets the flowing motion of the aquarelle.

This work, in a production of eight limited-edition pieces, is in keeping with a study of the relationship between the refraction of light and the reflection of image.
