Past: May 20 → July 10, 2016

Heroes
Past: February 19 → April 2, 2016

Adam Janes Memory Song — Pierre Seinturier It’s a way of life!
Past: December 11, 2015 → January 31, 2016
One is French, the other American. This one lives in Paris, and that one in Los Angeles. While both are very fond of drawing, and are always prompt to cover entire pages from sketchbooks or whole sheets of paper, their work is to be seen in light of a polymorphic plastic production developing both in size and volume.

Henrique Oliveira — Fissure
Past: October 19 → November 28, 2015
Without limits, this is how Henrique Oliveira’s world is being developed and written. It really seems that no space is large enough for his utopias. His organic constructions, often monumental, present themselves as overflowing illusions.

Alain Jacquet — Des Images d’Épinal aux Camouflages (1961-1963)
Past: September 7 → October 10, 2015
For the first Alain Jacquet exhibition the GP & N Vallois gallery decided to focus on the years 1961-1963. This short period predates the creation of the artist’s most iconic work and was the time when the artist shaped his own vocabulary which revealed the image at the same time as blurring it. On this occasion the gallery will exhibit a set of exceptional works.

Winshluss — Pas la peine de pleurer, personne ne te regarde...
Past: May 29 → July 11, 2015
The topic he is more and more interested in, he says, is love. We are not sure whether we might have heard “death”. He clarifies: the couple. Domestic life, the one that often starts at Ikea, for the middle class. Galerie Georges-Philippe & Nathalie Vallois, presents Winshluss, well known by comic book aficionados for a few cult publications.

An important body of sculptures is being deployed at Galerie Georges-Philippe & Nathalie Vallois by Julien Berthier under the generic title: “Portraits”. Alain Bublex — Arrière-plan
Past: October 3 → November 8, 2014
With “Arrière-plan” Alain Bublex proposes to test out the hypothesis: ’The creation of a “national” political and cultural space most often goes hand in hand with a trend towards representation of its landscapes.’ Or in other words, as soon as a people endows itself with a common future, it feels the need to portray what surrounds it and what has preceded it.

Past: October 3 → November 8, 2014
“Systema naturae is a group of documents made up of collages and texts whose ’paternity’ I attribute to my grandfather, who was born in 1913 in Saint-Angel, in the Allier département, and died in 1945. A sergeant in the army, he drowned himself during a spell as a reservist in the barracks at Montluçon”. — Jean-Yves Jouannai

Jacques Villeglé — Graffiti Politiques (1962-1991)
Past: June 6 → July 19, 2014
In appropriating bits and pieces of torn urban posters, Jacques Villeglé fulfilled a graphic and political (hi)story of the street. This seemingly simple approach, or one which at the very least can be summed up in an exclusive gesture, makes it possible to ask all sorts of questions about the status of the painting-as-object.

Past: June 6 → July 19, 2014
In the 1930’s, Brassaï, not yet a photographer, but already a compulsive “stroller”, observes and takes notes on the traces of a society in complete mutation, the dark corners of which he loves to explore. “He tracked down plots of wasteland, favourite places for lovers and children, leaving the signs of their love…”

Martin Kersels — Olympus
Past: March 14 → April 26, 2014
For this exhibition, Martin Kersels questions the myth of the Olympus. Heaven for the gods, protected from men, the Olympus symbolised perfection, complete happiness, joy of life and plenty. And yet, after reading Homer’s “Odysseus”, the artist observed that gods, just as men, are not exempt from vileness, vices and mediocrity.

Matías Duville — life in an instant
Past: March 14 → April 26, 2014

Virginie Yassef — Au milieu du Crétacé
Past: January 17 → March 1, 2014
In this same environment, which isn’t so dissimilar to those created by Pierre Huyghe and Ph. Several fake stones and logs gathered here question human behaviour. Yassef suggests we “witness the sculptures” which are “all set to talk”.

You might say there are two kinds of artists. The ones who spend their whole lives working on a specific question and those who blow apart all too soon, in mid-flight — in which case, picking up the pieces calls for an atlas and a good GPS.
