L’envol is the final exhibition at La maison rouge, which will close its doors for the last time on October 28, 2018.
Antoine de Galbert has invited Barbara Safarova, Aline Vidal and Bruno Decharme as co-curators. Together, these specialists in art brut and contemporary art have imagined an exhibition that examines mankind’s dream of flying.

Poetic, occasionally political, and pitched at a level that everyone understands, the works court neither heroism nor the spectacular, and yet they are extraordinary for the thoughts they spark or the position they adopt.

Refus de la technique, mécanisation du geste, contraintes et protocoles, outils de duplication, apparaissent comme autant de modes de désacralisation de l’œuvre et du geste traditionnel du dessinateur. Le temps d’une soirée, La Plateforme Roven propose aux artistes de réfléchir à une pratique qui fait écho à l’idée de perte de contrôle dans le dessin.
