James Welling — Chronology

John Baldessari — Double Bill

John Baldessari plays with the art historical canon, conflating two iconic works by the likes of De Kooning, Manet, Duchamp and Picabia into collaged hybrids. Each work is a one-man “cadavre exquis”, accompanied at the bottom by a text indicating only one of the sources, leaving it to our imagination to divine the other source and decode the proposition.

Matt Saunders shows a new animated film, interrelated photographic prints and a recent three-channel video installation.
In his new animation, the artist connects thousands of drawings made with ink on mylar (a polyester film) into a roiling and de-centered reel of short scenes coming from a variety of sources.
