Villa Vassilieff presents the first exhibition dedicated to the Belgian artist Sophie Podolski in Paris, following its presentation at WIELS, Brussels earlier this year. Her work is emblematic of a time marked by sexual liberation, anti-psychiatry and a disenchanted youth.

Akadémia : Performing Life

The exhibition will look at narratives and themes springing from the Akademia, a community and a school established by Raymond Duncan, American dancer and artist, and co-ran by Aia Bertrand. It existed between the 1920s and 1970s in Paris, offering free courses in dance, arts, and crafts.

Items from his collection of objects transformed by Cuban citizens for alternative uses will be displayed alongside pirate cuban films.
