If the city of tomorrow is taking form on the coasts, frontiers and jungles of today’s Europe, then gratitude and hospitality are not its founding pillars. Just as the fact of welcoming the other can be envisaged only because it is prevented, then hospitality today is countered, or even illegal.

After her exhibition, which attracted attention, at the latest edition of the Rencontres d’Arles, Laura Henno is presenting at the gallery all her work produced in the Comoros.
As a continuation of her projects created in Réunion, in 2009 Laura Henno began working in the neighbouring archipelago of the Comoros, the regional epicentre of migration and its related repercussions.

Laura Henno — La route du retour

L’exposition rassemble différentes séries, dont une inédite, récemment réalisée à l’occasion d’une résidence à l’île de la Réunion. Dans ces nouvelles photographies, Laura Henno met en scène de jeunes migrants, figures d’une évocation historique de la colonisation de l’île et de l’histoire des déplacements de populations.
