The exhibition features A selection of photographs made at the water’s edge over the past 19 years by New York artist, Joni Sternbach. Sternbach’s use of historic techniques (cyanotype, tintype and ambrotype) and equipment, including an Petzval 184o’s Petzval lens are part of her ongoing conversation with history.

In 1976, during a conference Michel Foucault introduced the idea of Hétérotopie in urbanism & architecture. Conceptually, Michel Foucault defined Hétérotopie like a physical location and a tangible utopia in the real world. Those are concrete spaces that embrace the imaginary.
