Durant l’été 1976, Werner Herzog se rend à Basse-Terre, en Guadeloupe. Toute la ville vient d’être évacuée alors que le volcan de la Soufrière menace d’exploser. Le réalisateur allemand décide de filmer les dernières heures de la ville. Les images qu’il nous lègue sont celles d’une cité fantomatique, pétrifiée par le silence. De ces images spectrales, Aurore Pallet fait collection.

The exhibition highlights the painter’s gesture and his connection with the canvas.

By writing a text which is in continual transformation — it is to be updated every day in the exhibition — he involves the viewer in writing which is in a constant state of flux.
