As one of the major artists of the contemporary scene, he is known for having been part of the BMPT group in the end of the 60’s, and is famous for his monochrome and geometric abstraction’s pieces. Le premier sens du mot cadeau est lié à l’écriture, à la « lettre » : un cadeau est une lettre capitale ornée. Le premier geste d’une histoire à écrire, un ornement qui nous invite à pénétrer un texte. L’œuvre d’art agît de même ; donner une œuvre d’art, c’est offrir le premier geste d’un événement : l’histoire singulière d’une vie qu’accompagne l’art.
