Anna-Eva Bergman has been in a life-long quest of the Absolute through her minimalist landscapes, transcended by the silver beam of the Norwegian light. These landscapes have reached a cosmic dimension with the series “Planets” started in the 1950s by the artist and achieving their pinnacle in 1969, as Bergman’s fascination for the space conquest grew with the Man’s first steps on the moon.

Developed since the 1960’s, these modular architectures, or “Space Chains”, can be developed in nitely, according to a flexible protocol of construction and improvisation.

Inspired by the notions of quantum mechanics such as information, superposition or the double, a new set of works is exhibited by intuitively juxtaposing merchant ships, masks, vortexes and cigarettes.

Vittorio Santoro — C’était le contraire d’un voyage

Lorsque, avec un lyrisme inhabituel, Claude Lévi-Strauss décrit dans « Tristes Tropiques », un coucher de soleil auquel il a assisté à bord du navire « Mendoza » entre Marseille et le Brésil dans les années 30, il inaugure en même temps toute une réflexion sur l’observation. Il y raconte comment cette expérience fut en fait le contraire d’un voyage.

The obsessive voice of Kate Bush, that listeners could have heard on the Palais de Tokyo “repondeur”, sets a rhythm to the perpetual movement of an anamorphic mirror driven by a record turntable.
